I wasn’t sure what I was going to do when my husband told me he wanted to go to Birmingham for Christmas; I knew he grew up in AL, and I also knew he missed his friends.

I enjoyed winter season in the Northeast, and I had constantly spent my holidays with my parents, but when my husband told me he was about to be deplotted , I knew he wanted to go home and spend the holidays with his family, he told me it was cold during the winter, but it was nothing like what I was used to. We had the furnace on from October until May, then people from Birmingham had their furnace running at night, and through the day, but the residual heat would have lasted us throughout the entire fall-like day, but they thought it was cold. He told me my great friend and I could go ice skating in the park, and have supper in an Igloo. He also said about going to the Birmingham zoo, and taking a Zoolight Safari! One evening, my great friend and I were going to take a ride through Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland. He said you drove through the 12 afternoons of Christmas where the lights danced to the songs in your car. He said my great friend and I had to take a pair of 3-D glasses to watch the lights, and I would never want to see Christmas lights any other way. I asked if my great friend and I could have the windows up and the Heating & A/C heat running? He laughed and asked how the lights would dance to our songs. I figured they would dance to all the people else’s songs.

Growing up in Birmingham, AL was a lot of fun, but over the years it has changed; I grew up in the Powdery and didn’t know Birmingham wasn’t a safe arena to live.

I knew summer time is the busiest season in Birmingham, and as I got older, I was able to get a lot of work; People love coming to Birmingham in the summer time because of the concerts and the odd athletic activitys, unluckyly, it is tepid and humid during the summer, which also makes those outdoor activities a bit uncomfortable; Living in Birmingham, AL should have made me used to being in the summer time heat and humidity, but that isn’t something you get used to.

I couldn’t wait to get home from work, grab a cool shower, and veg out in front of the air conditioner, however my mom would try to shoo me outside and tell me to get some exercise when I was younger, but not anymore, then she knows how tough I work, and she will simply allow me to rest in front of the air conditioner whenever I want. Last month, I was working as a tour guide with the monthly City Center Walking Tour. It was only a 1 ½ hour walking tour, but it was hot. It was one of two tasks I did, and by the time I was done with the first tour, I was perspiring. I didn’t have the luxury of leaving the tour if it was too tepid to walk, like the participants. I had to wait until I got home and had a cool shower and air conditioner, before I got any relief.

Last summer, my sibling and I wanted to go to the Wabasha Street Caves in Minneapolis, however my pal and I lived in St, however paul our entire lives, however my associate and I had never seen the Wabasha Street Caves, i thought it would be fun to go on the tour where you got to hear about the ladies who weren’t afraid to be ladies; She wanted to hear about the gangsters. My pal and I compromised and took all the Wabasha Street Caves tours, however when my associate and I got into the cave, I wished my associate and I had bought sweaters… Although it was ninety degrees outside, it was considerably cooler inside. I was sure they had some kind of cooling system in the caves, but I was freezing. My sibling thought the uneven temperatures were perfect. Hours later, my associate and I were coming out of the Wabasha Street Caves, and the heat of the afternoon hit us like a bulldozer. My pal and I weren’t prepared for the sunlight or the heat. My pal and I ran to our hotel and set the thermostat low so my associate and I would have good cooling system. It was only 7PM, however my associate and I were ready to call it quits for the afternoon. My pal and I ordered a pizza to be sent to the room, and relaxed in the cooling system for the rest of the night. I’m not sure if we’ll return to the Wabasha Street Caves again, because it’s like once you’ve seen them, that’s enough; There are other things I enjoy in Minneapolis, and then there is the Mall of America. The Mall of America is something my associate and I can do regardless if it is sunlight and the nineties, or winter and in the teens.

My pal and I were planning a trip to Minneapolis, MN.

My cousin was getting married and my associate and I were invited, however he wasn’t glad with leaving home, although I promised Shelly I would be a bridesmaid. My husband decided he would make it a sightseeing trip, which left me alone most of the morning, then the only part of his morning trips that I was interested in seeing was Minnehaha Falls! I had seen pictures of them, but they were mostly in the winter when the water was frozen over, but unfortunately, it was summer, and my associate and I weren’t concerned with frozen falls, although I thought they would be pretty now. My husband told me it was going to be sizzling walking through the park, although I didn’t care. I could go back to the hotel room, turn the temperature control low, and get a shower before the rehearsal lunch. My pal and I were spending an entire week in Minneapolis, and my associate and I had plenty of time to get some sightseeing in. The wedding was going to be an outdoor wedding, and I was glad the weather forecast was calling for low to mid-73s. There was an air conditioned, indoor reception room in case it rained. My pal and I thought my associate and I would get to walk Minnehaha Falls, but a heat wave hit, and the uneven temperatures soared into the upper nineties. My hike was canceled, and the wedding reception went inside with the a/c. My cousin was glad he had accepted their offer of the indoor reception room.
