Albuquerque is one of the biggest cities in New Mexico.
Albuquerque is located in the northern central part of the state. It was founded in the early 1700’s. My family has lived in the area for 200 years. For a hundred years, my family farmed the land. Then water became scarce and my family had to find another business. My mother’s family created one of the first Spanish American restaurants in the city. The wonderful Native American and Spanish flavors definitely influence a lot of the Albuquerque cuisine. The food and restaurants are my favorite part about the city. My favorite part about New Mexico is the fact that we have legal cannabis laws. Just last year, marijuana was deemed legal for recreational and medical purposes. The prices for recreational and medical marijuana are much lower now that a variety of companies have permits to grow and cultivate marijuana. There is a wonderful Spanish restaurant in downtown Albuquerque that actually has a tasting menu that includes marijuana. The five-course meal has cannabis infused into every part of the dish. Even the dessert menu includes cannabis products. This particular restaurant is one of my favorite places to eat. I also love eating at Cocina Azul, Indian Pueblo kitchen, and Frontier. Mary & Tito’s is also a great place to eat. This type of food is more modern than authentic, but the flavors are still amazing. No trip to the city is complete without a taste of authentic spanish american flavors. There are also a number of coffee shops and patisseries that serve authentic native american fare.
