In Phoenix, Arizona people don’t realize that there are cold nights.
Yes, during the days it is intensely hot no matter the time of year. However, there are certain times of the year the nights can drop into the 40s. For the most part I worry about cooling. I have invested in top of the line cooling equipment and I make sure to get it regularly serviced. For heating I use a heat pump system. The device can do both heating and cooling. The heat pump is only tagged in during the nights. I have an indoor air handler in each of the bedrooms. The heat pump only provides heating to those rooms. There is no reason to heat the rest of the house. I will save some money and my machine will live longer. During the day the AC is working for the entire space since we are everywhere. The heating zone control was worth every penny spent. Being able to customize the heating settings is just so convenient. Each of my kids have their own thermostat too. My daughter is always blasting the heating system in her room while most nights my son doesn’t even bother to turn on the heating equipment. I don’t know why people wouldn’t invest in zone control when they live in Phoenix, Arizona. It makes sense since the weather doesn’t get cold until late at night and it only lasts a few hours. Don’t live uncomfortably but don’t break the bank to heat the whole house.
