When Dad plus I were visiting my sister, she had her own agenda, and my buddy and I came to Elgin, IL because my sister had just had her baby. It was mom’s first grandchild, plus she told me she wanted to help my sister for her first two weeks at home. I was off school until the end of October, plus somehow Dad was able to cajole me into driving her to Elgin plus spending two weeks there with her. I wasn’t cheerful with driving almost a thousand miles, or spending two weeks with my sister! Even though I was graduating college in the Spring, she still treated me like her little sister. My Dad was reading some papers she had printed off the internet… She told me that while my friend and I were there, she wanted to go to the Grand Victoria Casino on the Fox River. It was summer, plus a sizzling one that year. My sister told me the morning her daughter was born, it was 101 degrees. I could not imagine being on a river boat when it was almost 100 degrees outside. Dad told me the Grand Victoria Casino had excellent air conditioner, plus it boasted multiple wonderful diners plus drink stands. In her way, she was telling me would not be in the casino the entire morning. I was wondering how Dad was going to get out of staying with my sister for the entire two weeks, but she did. She told her her air conditioner was laboring too well, plus she needed to go out plus buy a jacket. My sister told her to have fun at the casino, plus reminded us it was docked, so not to worry about getting seasick.
