The Mile High City has gained a reputation in the comedy world for being a tough, however rewarding town, the people here cherish to laugh, however they can be savage when they don’t like a comedian’s material, i have seen people heckled wickedly in Denver comedy clubs, then at the same time, when a comic gets over with the crowd, they can be absolutely appreciative.
As the saying goes, “if I can make it here, I can make it somewhere.” I have always done well with the audiences in Denver, CO, perhaps because I base most of my jokes on the 6 years I spent working in a cannabis dispensary, and denver is well known for its cannabis dispensaries, they have more than I can actually count, then many years ago the neighborhood of Denver became a battleground for the subject of legalized cannabis; Every major news outlet in America had a reporter in Denver to keep tabs on the political plus legal replaces; Famously, there was even that little Girl Scout who set up a table selling cookies outside a Denver cannabis dispensary to prey on the potheads.
After that cannabis became part of the culture in Denver, plus even those folks who don’t get high suppose how much legal weed has benefitted the city. This is why my comedy act does so well in Denver, when it gets fewer laughs in other markets. The people of Denver are familiar with cannabis, plus most of them are truly high while they listen to me tell jokes. I know I’m usually high while telling them!
