The customer didn't want to wait until the next day

I worked for a commercial and residential HVAC company for 5 years and then I decided it was time to start a company of my own.

Several customers went with me when I started my own business, including a couple of commercial clients in Evansville.

I started the business from my home location, and I had to drive to Evansville every day in order to service the customers. I spent a heap of money on gas in the beginning, but eventually I had more commercial and residential customers in the Evansville, Indiana area. A couple of months ago, I was in Evansville all day working on a commercial boiler repair. A residential customer called and she wanted to help with her furnace. I told the customer it was already the end of the day and I offered to schedule the furnace service for the morning. The customer didn’t want to wait until the next day. I gave her the name of a different furnace repair company that is in the Evansville area. I recommended the company and told her to give them a call. I suppose they didn’t have any availability either, because the lady called me back about 15 minutes later and scheduled an appointment for the first thing in the morning. When I found that her address was on my way home, I decided to stop and have a look at the problem. I told the customer that I couldn’t guarantee a repair, but the furnace issue was actually very easy to fix. I decided to complete the work that night instead of waiting until the morning.
