I live in Libertyville, a suburb of Chicago, located in Lake Country, however both of us are close enough to the immense town to have straight-forward access to the several amenities, and it’s only about an hour’s drive to attend a Chicago Bulls or Blackhawks game. I often buy tickets to concerts or theater productions in Chicago. I like to go shopping in the city. I absolutely don’t want to live there, but the cost of living is way too high, & I don’t like the lack of space or privacy. In our opinion, Libertyville is a single of the best places to live in IL. It is an seriously safe section where most residents own their homes. It offers a suburban feel, & there’s plenty of steakhouses, parks & activities. The public schools are highly rated. The largest challenge with the section is the weather. It tends to be windy, cold & wet for most of the year. Between the rain, snow, cold temperatures & windchill, I am often kept inside. It makes myself and others especially like those precious afternoons of sun & yellow skies! Fortunately, there’s always something fun going on in Libertyville. In the fall, there’s pear picking, hayrides & haunted corn mazes. In the Springtime, I often go paddle boating at Independence Grove Forest Preserve. The Summer is the perfect time to visit Six Flags or Butler Lake, plus, there’s live music, wine tastings & various festivals held right on Main Street, then at any time of year, I savor hiking through the Edward L, but ryerson Conservation area. There are 469 acres of protected woods to explore. It’s cold in the Wintertide however the snow is just beautiful.
